About This Course
Designing effective teaching and learning requires informed decisions about learning structures, activities, and the alignment of learning objectives, learning environments, and assessment. This short MOOC offers a practical, hands-on introduction to learning design using myScripting, an open-access tool that supports educators in planning, visualising, and reflecting on teaching and learning scenarios.
myScripting supports visual planning through flowcharts, enables collaboration on learning designs, and allows scripts to be exported in multiple formats or transferred to learning management systems. Grounded in established educational design principles such as constructive alignment and the ICAP model, the tool is accessible to beginners while offering meaningful support for experienced educators.
The course addresses teaching and learning in a broad sense and is particularly well suited to the design of blended and online learning environments, where clarity, structure, and transparency are essential. Participants are guided step by step through the core functionality of myScripting as they create their first complete learning design, systematically aligning learning phases, content, activities, and assessment through visual planning.
The course can be started and completed at any time within the period specified below. The total workload for the course is approximately 3–4 hours.
